Hi, I'm Chrissie
I'm a mum of two little ones and the person behind Little Day Out. I've always loved getting out and finding new places with my children, from big days out to tiny hidden gems we'd never have known existed. But I definitely don't love the hours of Googling, scrolling through Facebook groups and opening 27 tabs just to figure out where to go. Little Day Out is my attempt to make that bit easier. I'm building the kind of place I've wanted as a parent for years, somewhere you can quickly find brilliant things to do, get the practical information you actually need, and discover recommendations from other parents who've genuinely been there. Because planning the day out shouldn't take longer than the day out itself
Our Story
The idea for Little Day Out has been in my head since the birth of my little boy.
It started with something really simple: I wanted to get out and make memories with my children, but finding somewhere to go often felt like far more work than it should.
I'd search Google, scroll through Facebook groups and social media, ask other parents and somehow end up with dozens of tabs open, only to still be wondering whether somewhere was actually suitable for our family.
And yet, some of our best days out have come from the places another parent has recommended. The little farm we'd never heard of. A brilliant park tucked away somewhere. A café that's actually welcoming to children. The rainy-day place that saves everyone's sanity.
That's what I want Little Day Out to bring together. A place built with parents, for parents, where you can discover the big attractions and the little hidden gems, with the useful information you actually want to know before bundling everyone into the car.
And this is only the beginning. My hope is that Little Day Out grows into a community of parents sharing the places they love, helping other families spend less time searching and more time making memories.
